when they came

No preceding signs
they just appeared

You can not hear them
for they are not willing to

No other signs of their presence
other than their appearance

They show themselves in their full
glory, only to whom they choose

People may look for them, everywhere
they ARE, but they won't be found

They came from the Forest

you can see them

This is that memory of childhood, the REAL reason parents don't want you out past dusk. They're out there. Who knows if they're nice or wicked like the bully's from school.

The unknown shiver you get that night when the sun falls behind the horizon, of "do ghosts really come out to play tonight?"

At least, this is how Halloween was like for me as a child. I tend to have an over active imagination and see things others don't
